Pizza Boxes, Toxic Masculinity, and Fame Led to Andrew Tate's Arrest

Stupidity got the incel, Andrew Tate, arrested.

Andrew Tate first started out as a boxer and did kickboxing professionally in Britain. Tate became prominent in 2022 by encouraging members of Hustler's University to post videos of him to social media platforms to maximize his engagement; in August 2022, the website had garnered over 100,000 subscribers. Tate’s popularity also grew exponentially on Tik-Tok due to sharing his misogynistic opinions and giving guys his advice on how to get women to date them.

In December 2022, Tate got into an argument with 19-year-old climate activist Greta Thunberg on Twitter, when he posted tweets about his Bugatti as well as other misogynistic comments. This resulted in Thunberg responding with one of the best clapbacks of 2022.

After this argument, Tate recorded a three-minute-long video of himself insulting Thunberg. In the video there is a pizza box from a Romanian pizza chain. This was enough information for Romanian law enforcement to determine he was in the country. His house was then searched, and he was arrested under the connection of human trafficking. Search warrants were also issued in connection with an ongoing investigation into an organized criminal group.

Tate was sentenced to court and his attempts to be released from detention have been denied. He kept flaunting his illegality on his podcast and previously stated that he was in Romania to escape law enforcement in London. He’s admitted to committing multiple felonies, stating that he’s stolen women's passports to force them to work for a webcam. Because of this, the court believed his risk of flight was too high and he would be detained for an additional 180 days.

A lot of misinformation has been spread surrounding Thunberg who was recently detained by police during a protest in Germany. Many of Tate’s fans have laughed at this calling it “karma" and have spread false information that she is being sentenced to jail while Tate was released days after police arrested him. This is very clearly untrue as Tate was still in detention, and Thunberg was released on January 17th.

Needless to say, people should not trust everything they hear on the internet and not be idiotic misogynists. If Tate’s public opinions about women got him arrested, it is very unlikely that his beliefs would ever help an ordinary person attract women.

In the end Tates stupidity and arrogance was his downfall. The very thing that brought him fame got him arrested.
