The tradition of trick-or-treating on Halloween is rooted in the imaginative and fun loving nature of childhood. This tradition has always carried a special magic and is a night that little kids everywhere look forward to, not only for the candy but also as a night to delve into their creativity and have the ability to dress up as their favorite superhero, princess, or monster. This night is full of imagination and the best activity for little kids - stuffing their face till they’re sick. In many ways, the idea of trick-or-treating belongs to the little kids of the world. Maybe they should be able to enjoy their candy without the competition of teens, adults, and those that are just too old to be dressed like Elsa or Spiderman. Honesty, who wants to see a middle aged man walking around in a Spider-man onesie?

But then again, maybe the magic of Halloween is that it never gets old. Think about the inner child inside each individual and how happy they were every time Halloween rolled around. Every person still has that little kid inside them who wants to be able to experience the magic of the most special night of the year. Instead of letting this creative, innocent, and playful part of themselves die, some teens and adults want to and should be able to be that kid version of themselves for even one night. Trick or treating allows everyone to be that little kid they once were, so truly a person should never stop trick or treating. Don’t let that six-year-old die, and instead keep going door to door begging for those Hershey bars and gummies.
