Glendora Tartans varsity football takes on the Apple Valley Sun Devils this Friday at Apple Valley High School at 7 p.m.
Apple Valley and Glendora have the same 10-1 record. The Sun Devils took on Diamond Ranch Nov. 3 and won with an ending score being 33-39. When six minutes were left in the fourth quarter, Diamond Ranch’s quarterback got hurt and couldn’t continue to play. This hurt Diamond Ranch and led the Sun Devils to victory.
The Tartans won against the Burbank Bulldogs on Nov. 3 with the end score being 56-35.
Xzavier Ford broke 4 records while playing the Bulldogs: most rushing yards in a season, most touchdowns in a game, most touchdowns in a season, and most points in a game.
Cade Marshman also broke the record for the most touchdown receptions in a year. Jake Peralta broke the record for the most PAT’s in a season. The team as a whole broke the record for most points scored in a season being 339 and counting.
The boys will take everything they’ve learned from past games and practices to prepare for the game against the Sun Devils.
“We have been pushing ourselves so hard in practices and games. We want to win C.I.F. and I believe we have the capability to do so” says Will Jordison.
Whoever wins this game will go on to the third round of C.I.F. and take on either Aquinas or Palos Verdes on Nov. 16.
GHS will be getting a bus for this game for the students. The tickets for the bus and game are $10 and the first 50 people to purchase their ticket will have a reserved seat. The bus will leave at 4 p.m. sharp so don’t be late. Don’t forget to bring money for dinner at the snack bar.
Come support our varsity football players as they take on the Sun Devils this Friday and wear red.
