Ava Roolvink
Student and member of Royal Stewarts Ava Roolvink is passionate about singing and the roles she takes on in performances. She will be playing Regina George and Eurydice in upcoming productions, showcasing her love for her talents. Ava explains that one of the most challenging parts of performing in front of the entire school is knowing that everyone is watching her. However, she reminds herself that her own opinion matters most. With the support of Mrs. Hamilton and Mr. Stephen, Ava is able to balance her choir commitments with her personal life while preparing to take on the roles of Regina George and Eurydice in upcoming productions.
Q: You have performed in front of the whole school during an assembly. What was the hardest part about doing so?
A: The hardest part is caring about other people's opinions of you. I was really nervous cause I was like, wow, like everyone's gonna hear me sing. I was kind of scared. But I think what helped me get through it is just realizing that the only person's opinion that matters to you is yourself, and is having all that confidence in really not caring what other people think to protect your own peace.

Q: How do you balance your personal life and your choir life?
A: I think it makes it really easy to balance both of them because both of my teachers, Mrs. Hamilton and Mr. Stephens are extremely understanding when it comes to time conflicts, whether that's with sports or with any other art. So they make my life really easy. And they're very understanding and lenient. So honestly, it's not that hard to balance both of them.
