Girl Allergic to Everything Tries Pumpkin Foods

1. Baby food

The idea of eating baby food worried me because of its mushy texture. If you’re not bothered by this feat of baby food, you might enjoy it. It tasted more of bananas than pumpkin. It wasn’t awful, but it definitely wasn’t fun to eat.

2. English Muffin

I don’t really eat English muffins and this pumpkin atrocity reminded me why. I found no pumpkin flavor and no spice. If anything, it tasted like cinnamon or wheat bread. It was pretty disgusting. I struggled to eat any of it because of its unconventional texture and abnormal taste.

3. Bagel and cream cheese

I would not recommend the pumpkin bagels alone but when paired with pumpkin cream cheese, it made for a sweet breakfast food- definitely a food that embodies fall spirit. The cream cheese was sweet like cream cheese frosting. The bagel was similar to a raisin-less cinnamon raisin bagel. The pumpkin flavor was present, but not overpowering.

4. Pumpkin-Os

I expected to be underwhelmed by these because I didn’t think Cheerios could be altered too significantly. However, their contrast to regular cheerios made them a perfect snack. The fall flavor was strong, but in a way that emphasized the spice part of pumpkin spice.

5. Almond milk

The almond milk looked bad and tasted worse. I felt like I was drinking watered down milk. As a lactose intolerant person, I am not usually opposed to almond milk, but I am to this one. It had strong pumpkin spice flavor, but too much spice. When mixed with Cheerios, it was slightly better but still far from delicious.

6. Donuts

It’s hard to mess up a donut. They weren’t too different from a glazed donut. If you’re looking to get into the fall spirit but don’t want to dive too far deep into the pumpkin hype, these are definitely a good option. I would definitely binge eat these on a Friday night while watching Game of Thrones.

7. Ice cream

I was screaming for this ice cream. It was nothing like what I expected, but in a good way. It wasn’t too sweet, making it feel more exotic, like something you would get at Salt and Straw. I wouldn’t eat more than two scoops because of the strong, rich pumpkin flavor. If you’re fully in love with pumpkin spice culture, I would recommend this ice cream.
